Time For Action To Help Youth Sports
Forget LeBron James and the circus that surrounded his NBA free agent signing, let's get back to reality! I read an article in yesterdays Washington Post written be William Wan that pisses me off to no end about a guy ripping kids off by using sports as his cover. Anyone that has been reading my posts or knows me personally knows how strongly I feel about kids playing sports and getting a chance to play. I have written in the past about donating your old sports equipment instead of throwing it out if it's still usable. Our kids are getting shafted by how bad the American economy is today and a lot of school districts around the country are cutting out some sports and others are going to start charging fees to play. It's a real shame in my opinion that this is happening. Reading that article was my call to action and I will start the sports equipment donation program myself here in the Washington D.C. area because the talking needs to stop and action must be taken! If you would like to help or give me some advice on getting this program going and lord knows I need it, please don't hesitate to contact me! If you have any equipment to donate you can contact me as well. I have no idea what I'm getting myself into, but here I come!
