There’s several big games around the NFL in Week 15 that could make or break a team’s postseason dreams. This is a great weekend for NFL fans to sit back and enjoy the ride! The NFL Playoffs have already begun!
A huge game for both teams! The Giants are in a dogfight in the NFC East and face the possibility missing out on the NFC postseason party if they slip up coming down the stretch. The G-Men will be without RB Ahmad Bradshaw, but rookie David Wilson’s more than capable of stepping in for the veteran. Wilson must pickup the blitz and allow QB Eli Manning time to throw.
The Falcons are trying to secure home field and looking to regain their early season mojo after weeks of suspect play. No matter what happens in this game the questions about the Falcons will linger into the playoffs until they find some success. The Giants have won their last seven games at the Georgia Dome.
The biggest key to this game will be the Giants pass rush against the Falcons offensive line. Falcons QB Matt Ryan has the weapons to work with, but he must have time to get them the ball.
My Pick: Falcons 30-24
A great matchup of AFC division leaders locking horns in a game that could be huge for the winner. The Broncos are rolling with QB Peyton Manning looking like the player who led the Indianapolis Colts to a championship. I’ve got to tip my hat to him because I didn’t think he would round into form so soon after missing over a year with an injury.
Manning isn’t doing it alone in Denver and has a talented team around him. They could be a very dangerous team in the AFC Playoffs next month.
The Ravens will not have LB Ray Lewis available to play this week and that is not good news for Ravens fan’s to hear going into this big game. Lewis may be getting up there in age but he’s still a vital part of the defense and this struggling unit needs him now more than ever.
Can Ravens QB Joe Flacco keep up with the aging gunslinger on the other side of the field? The Ravens are going to need to score over 30 points to have a shot at winning this game in my opinion.
My Pick: Broncos 37-24
The Colts have been one of the NFL’s best stories this season with everything the franchise has endured. It looks like rookie QB Andrew Luck’s going to help guide them into the AFC Playoffs. If the Colts win their last three games they will head into the postseason as the AFC South Champs, but can they do it? They will face the division leading Texans again in Week 17 at home.
The Texans are sitting in the top spot in the AFC and have a chance at securing home field if they can finish out the regular season strong. A win over the Colts this week would clinch the franchise’s second straight division title. The Texans defense has struggled against the pass and come in ranked #19 in that department, but they do play the run well and come in ranked #2.
My Pick: Texans 23-17
Huge game for both teams that need to win. The Steelers have been very up and down this season as the team’s been hit pretty hard with injuries to key players. But they’ve managed to stay afloat and enter the final three weeks with a chance to get into the AFC postseason party. They will head into Big “D” looking to get back on track after losing at home last week.
The Cowboys have won two straight games to get themselves back into the NFC East race. It sounds like WR Dez Bryant’s going to attempt to play through the broken finger he suffered last week. Bryant has 33 catches for 525 yards and seven TDs over the past five games, and is 10th in the NFL with 1,028 yards this season. Losing him would be a big blow to the Cowboys offense.
My Pick: Steelers 24-20
A possible Super Bowl preview? I don’t think so, but it’s going to be a good game and a measuring stick for both teams to gauge where they’re at as the regular season winds down. The 49ers stout defensive unit will have their hands full with the high-powered Patriots offense that QB Tom Brady runs with the laser like precision.
The Patriots are making a late season push to snatch home field advantage away from the Texans. The Patriots have won their last 20 home games in the month of December.
My Pick: Patriots 31-20
A big game between bitter rivals and an absolutely must win game for the slumping Bears. The Bears have lost four of their last five games after starting the season 4-1 and must find a way to stop this slide before it’s too late.
The Packers will clinch the NFC North with a win over the Bears. The Packers won two straight at Soldier Field and have owned Bears QB Jay Cutler since his arrival in the Windy City. Cutler has seven touchdowns and 16 interceptions while posting a 53.1 passer rating in going 1-6 against the Packers as a member of the Bears.
My Pick: Packers 31-23
