What To Look For On Final Day Of 2012 Regular Season

This is the final day of the 2012 MLB regular season and there’s some interesting storylines and unfinished business that will get decided today!

  • A.L. West Division Champion - The Texas Rangers will face the Oakland A’s with the winner winning the division. It’s not all sour grapes for the losing team as they will enter the postseason as one of the two A.L. Wildcard teams.
  • A.L. East Division Champion - The New York Yankees have a one game lead over the Baltimore Orioles. A Yankees win or Orioles loss gives the division to the Bronx Bombers, but a loss by the Yankees and a win by the Orioles will mean a one game playoff between them tomorrow in Baltimore to decide the issue. Both teams are going into the A.L. Playoffs, but one will be the Wildcard.
  • Triple Crown Chase - Miguel Cabrera of the Detroit Tigers is looking to become the first player to win the elusive Triple Crown! Cabrera enters the day leading the A.L. in all three categories: .331/44/139, can he do it? I think he’s going to seal the deal and get it done!

About: BeltwayBoy

I'm a huge sports fan, born and raised in the D.C. area. I've had a love for sports for as long as I can remember! I'm a big Washington Redskins, Wizards, Capitals, and Nationals fan! I also root for the New York Yankees, D.C. had no baseball team while I was growing up and the Bronx Bombers more than filled the void! I like to meet new people and love to learn new things!
