N.L. East Race Is Starting To Resemble The 1973 Belmont Stakes

The 2012 N.L. East Division race is starting to resemble the 1973 Belmont Stakes.

The Washington Nationals and Atlanta Braves have left their division rivals way behind. It reminds me of the great duel between Secretariat and Sham in the 1973 Belmont when they pulled away from the field.

I’m hoping the Nationals will be able to finish strong just like Secretariat did 39 years ago! A replay of that great ’73 Belmont is posted below for you to see what I’m referring too.

About: BeltwayBoy

I'm a huge sports fan, born and raised in the D.C. area. I've had a love for sports for as long as I can remember! I'm a big Washington Redskins, Wizards, Capitals, and Nationals fan! I also root for the New York Yankees, D.C. had no baseball team while I was growing up and the Bronx Bombers more than filled the void! I like to meet new people and love to learn new things!
