We have some great interleague matchups this weekend around Major League Baseball and I’m going to give you my thoughts on the top five to watch:
The Battle Of The Beltway resumes this weekend in Baltimore with both teams in contention for a possible playoff berth. The Orioles took two of three at Nationals Park last month. The Nats have a 3.5 game lead in the N.L. East and the Orioles are 2.5 games behind the Yankees in the A.L. East coming into this series.
The Yankees swept the Mets a couple of weeks ago and now the Mets are looking to return the favor as the Subway Series resumes. The Yankees lead the A.L. East by 2.5 games and the Mets are 3.5 games behind the Nationals in the N.L. East. It sounds like some bad blood is brewing between these Big Apple rivals.
The Battle Of L.A. could be a World Series preview. The Angels took two of three games a little more than a week ago when these teams played at Dodgers Stadium. The Dodgers are leading the N.L. West by four games and the Angels are five games behind the Texas Rangers in the A.L. West.
The Braves head into Fenway Park feeling good after taking two of three games against the Yankees in Yankee Stadium. The Red Sox are on a five game winning streak and looking to build on their own momentum. The Braves are in third place and four games back in the N.L. East. The Red Sox are 5.5 games behind the Yankees in the A.L. East.
The Tigers are one of the most disappointing teams in MLB so far, but playing in the A.L. Central has allowed them to stay in the thick of things. The pesky Pirates overcame a slow start to the season to put themselves into the mix in the N.L. Central. The Tigers are 2.5 games back in the A.L. Central and the Pirates are two out in the N.L. Central.
