The Never Say Die Nats Did It Again With A Late Rally To Win

The Washington Nationals continued their great start to the 2012 season by coming from behind and beating the Cincinnati Reds, 2-1 in 13 innings.

The Never Say Die Nats trailed 1-0 going into the bottom of the eighth inning and tied the game on an Xavier Nady home run. Then battled until Jayson Werth knocked in the game winning run with a base hit in the bottom of the 13th inning.

The second straight walk-off win in as many days at Nationals Park improved the Nats to 6-2 on the season. The team received another great pitching performance from Jordan Zimmermann who went seven innings and allowed the Reds only three hits and one run, but had to settle for a no decision for his work.

The Nats bullpen was just as good last night with six scoreless innings pitched and allowing only two hits. I know it’s only eight of 162 games, but things feel like they’re coming together for this Nats team and something special is brewing in the Nation’s Capital.
