The Atlanta Braves announced the signing of right-handed pitcher Chad Durbin to a one-year Major League contract. Financial terms of the deal were not announced. Durbin will wear uniform number 32. He was among the final roster cuts by the Washington Nationals earlier today.
Durbin, 34, went 2-2 with a 5.53 ERA over 56 appearances last season for the Cleveland Indians. Over 12 Major League seasons, Durbin owns a 38-46 record with a 5.10 ERA in 364 appearances.
Durbin was originally selected by the Kansas City Royals in the third round of the 1996 June free agent draft and has made Major League appearances for the Royals, Indians, Diamondbacks, Tigers and Phillies.
The Braves have also re-assigned left-handed pitcher Yohan Flande to Triple-A Gwinnett.
