The Washington Wizards are now 2-0 on their west coast road trip after a very impressive 124-109 win over the Portland Trail Blazers. It’s the first time the team has won consecutive games this season and their third straight road win.
The Wizards showed some moxie in this win by not folding down the stretch and finishing the game off strong. The Trail Blazers tried to make a few runs at them late in the game, but the Wizards had an answer for them each time and improved to 5-7 under interim coach Randy Wittman.
This was the best game I’ve seen the Wizards play in a long time. They look like a team with a roster full of young players starting to gell and grow chemistry on the court with each other.
Nick Young was on fire and led the way with a game high 35 points. Young went seven of eight from three-point range and is now averaging 19.9 points per game in the month of February.
John Wall has played well of late and he had 29 points to go along with nine assists. Jordan Crawford came off the bench and contributed 21 points, four assists, and three steals in the win.
Now the question is will the Wizards be able to keep this up? We won’t have to wait long for an answer because they will be visiting Blake Griffin and the Pacific Division leading L.A. Clippers tonight.
