The Washington Wizards looked good in their first game under interim coach Randy Wittman in their 92-75 win over the Charlotte Bobcats. The team played well, but they will be on the road for the next couple of games and start the road trip with an 0-7 road record on the season.
Playing on the road has been torture for the Wizards in recent seasons and last year was a total nightmare as they lost their first 25 road games. I’m hopeful that we won’t see a repeat of that this season, but this is a Washington team we’re talking about here and anything is possible.
The Wizards start their trip at the Houston Rockets tonight and will be looking to avenge their 114-106 loss to the Rockets almost two weeks ago. John Wall scored a career high 38 points in that game and has played well since.
In Wall’s last seven games he’s averaging 21 points, 7.3 assists, and 7.3 rebounds per game. He’s starting to look like the franchise player the team drafted #1 overall in the 2010 NBA Draft.
