Washington Mystics Have Stumbled Out Of The Gate With A 1-5 Start

The Washington Mystics have stumbled coming out of the gate with a 1-5 start to the WNBA season. The Mystics came out strong in last nights 89-80 loss to the Indiana Fever and led 24-13 after the first quarter, but that didn’t last long. After leading by 11 points going into the second quarter the Mystics found themselves trailing by 3 at the half.

It’s not time to panic because I think this team will get better as the season goes on, but you hope they can get on track before the season gets away from them. The team has undergone a lot of changes since last season with a new head coach and a roster full of young players. Plus the team is playing without Alana Beard who is the best player on the team and one of the top players in the WNBA.

The Mystics are off until Sunday when they will host the Tulsa Shock at Verizon Center. The Shock have the worst record in the WNBA at 1-6. Their win was an 18 point blowout of the Mystics in Tulsa. Can the Mystics return the favor this Sunday in D.C.?
