Steelers Rooney Shown the Door at Giants Stadium

Tuesday August 24 2010Dan Rooney has handled the off field adversities of his Pittsburgh Steelers pretty well. From restructuring ownership to his morally bankrupt quarterback, the Chairman has kept his cool. One could hardly blame him for deciding to take a trip to Ireland to escape the Ben Roethlisberger media landslide. But, being a company man, Rooney made it back in time to catch the Steelers preseason matchup against the Giants in their new digs.
Before the game, Rooney went to the press booth to talk to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette when a sharp eyed press booth attendant noticed his lack of credentials. When he challenged Rooney for the proper paperwork and discovered he possessed a ticket to a private box, but no press credentials, he booted the Hall of Famer.
Bouchette said the attendant didn’t know he was evicting the Steelers Chairman.
