According to Michael Lee, Wall and Arenas had a chance to meet. Here is some insider notes: Wall said he also met with Gilbert Arenas, who was in town receiving treatment on his left knee. “I talked to him a little bit. He knows a lot about the game. You can tell he’s a smart player. I can’t wait to get on the court with him and get it going,” Wall said. “He just says he’s going to do as much as he can to change and play the way he knows how to play, helping us win. I feel like you got two guys who can attack the basket and also Gilbert can stretch the defense, it helps out a lot.”
I have always been a little bit concerned that the two had not had a chance to actually meet in person. I know others were not but to me team chemistry is important and Arenas needs to be on the same page as Wall and the rest of the team. Arenas is an incredible player but with him it has never been about the ability, it has always been his mindset. If he genuinely likes Wall, the two will co-exist. Arenas and Hughes flourished together so Wall and Arenas can do the same as long as both get a good feel for each other. I don’t know how big of a deal it really it is but I am glad that they have had a chance to meet face to face and maybe it will help Gilbert’s mindset as he approaches training camp.
