You may be finished with that basketball or baseball glove and ready to pitch them in the trash can and buy some new stuff. Don’t throw your stuff away! There are plenty of people who can’t afford to purchase new equipment and would be more than happy to use your old stuff both kids and adults. I thought about this while watching the news and hearing about another youth sports program being cancelled because a lack of funds. I think it’s a crime to disband youth sports programs and every child should have the opportunity to play if they want. I started thinking about the kids out there in the world whose parents couldn’t afford to sign them up to play or to purchase the equipment their child needs to play their particular sport. I think kids get a lot out of playing sports. They learn teamwork and sportsmanship along with many other life lessons. I’m not really sure how to proceed from here and would appreciate some feedback on this. I love sports and remember how much fun I had playing as a kid and I think all kids should have that opportunity! Send me an email to Sportsdesk@beltwayboysports.com
