The Canadian women beat the U.S. 2-0 in the Gold Medal game. I thought the Canadians controlled the game from start to finsh. Forward Marie-Phillip Poulin scored both goals for the Canadians in the first period. Then after that it was left up to goalie Shannon Szabados to close the deal and she didn’t disappoint! She kept the U.S. women at bay with 28 saves. The win gave Team Canada it’s 3rd straight Gold Medal in womens hockey and 15th straight win in Olympic play. Now it’s up to the Canadian men to see if they can step up and match the women and make it a Gold Medal sweep for the host nation.
